# What is the THINK Agent Standard Protocol?

THINK agents are the atomic unit of a decentralized intelligence network described in the [whitepaper](/whitepaper/think-agent-standard.md). Each agent has identity and autonomy secured via blockchain, which enables them to freely evolve, interact, and transact without central control.  The standard outlines a broad framework for intelligent agents to communicate, negotiate, and transact.
